New ward referrals faxed and received before 15:00hrs Monday – Friday or 10am Saturday – Sunday will be seen by an ANS the same day. All others will be seen the following day.

The RSUH Laboratory is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including bank holidays. Laboratory core hours are 8:00am – 8:00 pm Monday to Friday. Outside core hours, services are limited to urgent work only.
The County Laboratory is open 6:30 am-11:15 pm, 7 days a week. It provides a limited repertoire of essential tests for ward and outpatient activity on the County site. After midnight, samples are transported to the RSUH Laboratory for analysis.
